Fellow student Michele Lee sends in this cool graphic of the Chinese Internet Police, this is what you see when you try to go to a website they don’t want you to see! How cute, how adorable, how scary!
Note: To loosen up your creativity, I’ve uploaded some great PDFs on Design Thinking
There isn’t a PDF for this project, all the details are on the Week 5 page.
Due this week:
Basically you will brainstorm 100 ideas for new products. OMG. Brainstorm ideas, shapes, functions, a name and description of the Apple product. Spend an hour or two making a hundred tiny, simple sketches of the possible product, the possible design, including notes, forms, different views, names, close up of details, colors, whatever, EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF!
Due next week: You will then narrow it down, and develop 5-10 more detailed sketches of the product or software, or process you want to put your heart behind, then narrow that down to 1 photoshop composite (rough psd due in next week also) that accurately depicts the product, what it is, what it does, etc.
Read this to understand the changes going on in software and interface design:
And here is a kit: Flat UI – Free User Interface Kit
Due in 2 weeks: What is the name? What is it called? What does it do? You will create a tight rendering, a PSD mock up, of what is looks like in Photoshop. ALSO – since Apple is market driven, YOU will create a full page ad, full bleed, for major magazines across the country, introducing your Apple product. How will you do that? Well, the concept is up to you, and here is the template file.
